Andy Dale (Soulmelt) born June 1972. At the early age of 11 years old
he found the sounds of Chicago house and Acid house .
Even at such a young age he spent his time listening to artist such as
During this time his passion grew and wanted to start producing music.
At the age of 13 Andy got his 1st Synthesizer (Yamaha DX100)
and using ZX Spectrum to sequence music, which was ground breaking technology at the time.
During the late 80’s +early 90’s Andy enjoyed clubs at weekend such as

Back to Basics (Leeds), The Orbit (Leeds) and various other clubs.
At this time of his live he was influenced by artists such as The Future Sound of London,
Once the Rave scene had slowed down in the 90’s Andy enjoyed going to
events such as Southport Weekenders, this give him his passion for soulful sound of house music
and became more influenced by a more mature sound like
Andy was also listening to a lot of experimental artists such as
and his favorite labels during this time was the likes of Reflective (Jonah Sharp),
Warp records and Soma Records.
These are just a few of the many artists that have influenced
the sound of ‘Soulmelt’ over the decades.
In the 90′s Andy then moved to Newcastle UK to study music technology
and lived the for over 10 years, in which gave him chance to
get involved with local events and gigs.
